Sterling, VA · Open Late
Every table gets Tala tonight
Apple-mint shisha, $15 mains, and servers who remember your name. Open late on Arcola Road for the people who need to exhale after the commute.
The Space
Where the commute dissolves
The space sits in a low-slung strip plaza off Arcola Road, the kind you'd miss if not for the frosted glow at the entrance. Inside, Edison bulbs hang behind sheer ikat drapes. Microsuede banquettes have gone soft from years of Friday nights that stretch past 2 a.m. It smells like cedar and cardamom and fresh naan char, and it sounds like murmured conversation over Afghan pop turned low.

Questions
Before you walk in
How late are you actually open?
We're open well past midnight most nights. Weekends, expect us going until 2 a.m. or later. The kitchen stays active the whole time.
What does a hookah session cost?
Shisha runs about $18 per session. You pick your flavor, or ask your server for a recommendation. Farazh is particularly good at reading what you're in the mood for.
Is it loud inside? Can I have a conversation?
It's a low hum, not a club. Music stays ambient. You can talk at normal volume, even at peak hours on Friday night.
Do I need a reservation or can I just walk in?
Walk-ins are how most people come. After 11 p.m. on weekends it gets full, so showing up a little earlier helps if you want a banquette.
Is the food halal?
Yes, all our meat is halal. The menu runs about $15 per main, and the naan comes fresh from the kitchen throughout the night.
